      Ancestors

      from $95.00

Just like human beings, no art work is ever really finished. At intervals, they reach a comfortable holding pattern. These pages are from one of my image quest journals. They have taken years of layering and life to evolve into what you see right now.

      Family Tree #1

      from $95.00

Like human beings, no art work is ever really finished. At intervals, they reach a comfortable holding pattern. These pages are from one of my image quest journals. They have taken years of layering and life to evolve into what you see right now. After the 2003 fire my mom dug out photos to replenish our memories. Among them were ancestors I had not seen before. I was intrigued by the stance, the faces, and the surroundings. My father’s family, my mother’s family and my mother in laws family are all represented here in photo transfers of children, the homestead stoop, grandparents, parents and the family silver pattern.

      Maiden Of Fire

      from $1,300.00

The Maiden of Fire is my companion, as are all of my images. But she is most unique because of the rapport we have developed as she accompanied me through the years after my home and studio burned to the ground. She quenched my raging anger around my home, my master thesis and all of my art work burning, not once but twice. The Maiden first came to me through a small doodle, saying, “If you will simply step into the boat of making, I will carry you effortlessly to the other side of who you truly are”. This meant to me that if I could manage to let go of my rage towards God, my land and my story of what “home” was by beginning to make art that I would be lifted and carried effortlessly through the rebuilding process ahead. If you are interested in hearing more about this story please join us for a Salon Talk “Living with Images as Companions” on Feb 12, 5-6pm. This talk visually documents the stages of this painting and the dialog between myself and the images that emerged and changed during the time that we rebuilt, healed and ultimately moved back to our land.
